THE PROGRAM

MATR’s program does not claim to be “The Program”.  Staff, administration and volunteers
who will be working with you do not claim to be perfect.  We believe that just as you are
receiving services for a reason, so also are we staff and directors for a reason beyond the
obvious of serving our clientele.  It is the view of the owners and directors of this program
that we all, staff and clients together form a unique group.  When you make the
commitment to enter
MATR’s facility for services, MATR makes the commitment to you to
offer you the highest quality of services that we know of.  Because each human being is
unique, and because each client’s uniqueness affects the whole, services received by each
client may be flavored with varied hues of human experience and behavior, resulting in a
very individualized experience.

MATR offers to you a spiritual program.  It is not religiously based, but is based on the
spiritual belief regarding the inter-connectedness of the tribe of man, especially the
potential, power and uniqueness of each individual human being.

To the addict: We believe that because you have this problem in your life, you also have the
solution to this problem.  You have been making choices for yourself for quite some time
now and are, at this very moment, choosing to read or not to read this, or to believe or not
believe the information you are now reading.

Within
MATR’s program it is acknowledged that you have the right to choose, you have
always had the right to choose, This choice may be to fail. We simply acknowledge your
freedom of choice and the right to fail.  We acknowledge your right to choose and intend to
move forward from a more honest vantage point.

MATR believes that each client requires an individualized plan based on his/her distinct
needs. We have generalized guidelines which we then combine with the specific
requirements specified by courts, agencies, families or the client themselves. While we
prefer a minimum stay of 90 days, there have been clients who have chosen to remain 30
days. Other clients, due to their own desires or requirements from agencies and/or courts
remain for 90 days up to  18 months. A client can enter for detoxification. Though there has
been one or two clients in the past who have entered only for detoxification, our preference
is that a client remain for a longer period to ensure a broader introduction to the services
available. Most of our clients are not on an incarceration status though some clients are
incarcerated while in residence here. When a client remain for up to 90 days, our success
rate is 93%. Part of the success rate may include the emphasis we place on aftercare and
remaining involved with our program.
MATR also offers the Utah State DUI course (PRI).
